“One thing we see referenced often are celebrities who have sort of arisen as the ‘it’ person — Kim Kardashian is probably the most common,” said Tom Seery, CEO of RealSelf.com, a plastic surgery website that saw a 39 percent jump in the number of searches involving butt augmentation last year. Users also envied the curves of Pippa Middleton and Beyoncé he said. Swimsuit model Upton is the latest curvy “it” girl.
More than 23,000 people got butt implants, butt lifts, thigh lifts or lower body lifts in 2011, a 242 percent increase from 2000. The number of breast augmentations and breast lifts went up 45 percent and 72 percent, respectively, since 2000.
